Having transferred Vincent Riou onto the race committee boat, Loick Peyron sailed Gitana Eighty across the finish line of The Artemis Transat in Boston and the Omega clock stopped counting at precisely 03:15:35 GMT this morning [Saturday, 24th May], claiming a third victory in the event as well as a new race record for this legendary sailor. more »

Foto copyright Mark Lloyd Entrada triunfal para Loick Peyron en Boston, que gana la Artemis Transat y se convierte asi en el único navegante en la historia en ganarla tres veces (1992/1996/2008), Gitana Eighty completó las 2,982-milas de recorrido en un tiempo de 12 días, 11 horas, 15 minutos, 35 segundos (el tiempo corregido no incluye las 2.5 horas otorgadas por el jury por su rescate a Vincent Riou). Al hacerlo batió el actual record de 12 días, 15 horas, 18 mins y 8 segs establecidos por Mike Golding con Ecover en el 2004, por más de cuatro horas.Armel Le Cléach con Brit Air cruzó la línea algunas horas después convirtiéndose en el segundo claisficado de esta dura regata a través del Atlántico. more »

His arrival in Boston, USA, marks an historic achievement for this legendary French sailor.
