French Concept boat pour la prochaine Coupe de l'America ?

Hier je vous parlais des multicoques envisageables pour le prochain duel de la Coupe de l'America, le Dog match (Deed of gift). C'est en effet la grande question du moment mais elle a également des répercutions bien au déla de la Coupe. La France a développé un circuit de multicoque fantastique depuis trois décennies mais n'a jamais réellement réussi à le promouvoir à l'extérieur de l'hexagone. La classe ORMA n'a plus de grand prix et les multicoques de 60 pieds vont se limiter à courir les transats. Dans un récente interview Fred Le Peutrec par Eurosport (à lire ici) explique que c'est énorme opportunité pour le circuit français. En particulier pour le nouveau circuit de 70 pieds qui doit voir le jour l'année prochaine. Un projet très proche, voir similaire à celui de Russell Coutts et Paul Cayard : la World Sailing League (circuit de tri de 70 pieds, voir par ici). Et oui encore Russell Coutts dont la volonté de faire évoluer la Coupe de l'America vers de nouveaux supports est toujours plus claires. Il a par exemple présenté hier un épreuve de match race en X40 d'exhibition en Italie à l'automne prochain. Pour cette année il n'y aura "que" James Spithill en adversaire et on peut comprendre qu'a quelques mois du Dog match il faut éviter les contrariétés. La débauche de grand marin français a également une influence sur le circuit français. Il y a peu Alain Gautier a annoncé délaissé la Figaro pour son rôle de consultant pour Alinghi. Et aujourd'hui on apprends que Franck Cammas ne partirai pas cette hiver à la conquête du Jules Verne. Groupama 3 doit subir de lourd travaux après son chavirage au large de la Nouvelle Zélande. Les mauvaises langues (sur ce blog) se sont empressées de dire que c'était pour que Franck se concentre sur la préparation du Dog Match avec les américains et aussi pour essayer de trouver la faille de Groupama 3 dont les architectes sont les mêmes. Je sais Jo, les modifications était prévu bien avant (voir son commentaire). Et oui car le Dog match arrive vite. Et vous venez d'apprendre sur mon twitter via une source sur que le monstre de BMW Oracle est en cours de finition à Anacortes prés de Seattle. Il devrait être embarqué au mois d'Aout en cargo avec son arrivée prévu à Valencia pour Septembre. Voici une photo de la coque centrale de l'engin.
