Record...what a record...!! Time to step away?
The final figures for February landed in my inbox this evening and I am absolutely astounded. This website clocked up an astounding 169,814 visits with some 9 million hits (whatever they are) with just over 154,000 pages viewed (what were you looking at?)...This is by far and away my biggest month on record and shows that there's a big market out there for unintelligent comment, barbed jibes, cheap shots and lowest of the low hand-grenade journalism. I've always said that I would get out at the top and I'm in two minds now whether to call it a day and ice the blog for a couple of years to concentrate on my family or to continue past April and see how much bigger this whole thing can get? Right now, I'm think seriously of icing it. The sailing world is pretty dull at the moment and the egos are truly staggering... I'll take a steer on this from you but I reckon it's better to step out of the spotlight at the top and then come back to spice things up when the sport needs a kicking (you can almost hear the other sailing websites cheering) but I just don't want to end up punch-drunk...   Full Story »
