Cracking issue of Seahorse...
The Seahorse boys have really pulled it out of the bag this month with a simply brilliant edition that I've just gone cover to cover on. The best bits are firstly Tim Jeffery's analysis of Lord Ainslie's triumphant fifth Gold Cup win where he gives a down and dirty assessment of the feat with paragraphs like: "Invariably Ainslie made port tack windward mark approaches, tacking underneath rivals and putting on the squeeze in inch perfect execution." Brilliant stuff... Secondly there's a terrific piece written by Dobbs Davis describing his meeting with Ernesto and Brad...very, very interesting from someone who normally keeps his nose out of the shark-infested AC politic cess-pool (stay out, it's hell in here!). And the magazine goes on with some brilliant features including a great one on my old mucker Jason Ker who I firmly believe to be the Benny Lexcen of his day... Finally there are two rather controversial nominees for sailor of the month with Britain's Giles Scott (he of Finnasaurus fame) going head-to-head with a bloody Aussie, Torvar Mirsky, who's described as a "rising star in the style of Peter Gilmour!" Drop that one as quick as you can mate, you don't want to get tarnished with the Gilly brush believe me... I hope young Giles wins, for no other reason than he's British and I can't stand Australians because they win everything...
