Well shiver me timbers, dip me in chocolate and let the RORC committee flail me to within an inch of my life with a feather duster! I've just read the most bizarre release from Sebastien Destremeau who runs a quite interesting French website, and there in amongst the usual drivel was an unpolished diamond of a rumour, namely that there's going to be an IACC regatta in Cowes this summer! Brilliant news if it's true but why on earth would anyone want to firstly put money into this dinosaur fleet and secondly who's going to want to sail them? Talk about the C-list...the A-listers will all be in the Med doing the Audi TP52 circuit or gearing up for the DoG match in Valencia. Why would you come to Cowes? Someone might even offer me a ride...that's how desperate they're going to be! Or maybe there's going to be modern-day pressgangs roving the corridors of the Pier View offering flagoons of ale and gold coins....
