Congratulations Ernesto...
Well, I'd just like to say congratulations to Ernesto Bertarelli for: "winning the Audi Sailor of the Year award for promoting the sport of sailing through his recent America's Cup victory." That's great stuff Ernie and I simply love the fact that you had an AC poster on your wall when you were a kid (probably the same one that I had) and that you were inspired to challenge, and subsequently win, sailing's greatest prize.  I have a son, Hurricane Harry, who I hope will be inspired by the AC, just as you were when you were a kid. He is six months old now and I'm really hoping that, just like his Dad, he'll look at the AC with the same aspirational eyes as his father when he's 10 or 11 years old and say " Daddy, I'm gonna win that one day, for you and Mummy"....right now there's a generation of 10, 11, 12, 13, 36, 55, and 70 year olds that are looking at the Cup going "Jeeeeez, what's going on?" Change that perception by getting it back on the water. Please? But congratulations on your success Ernesto, I was a fan of yours before and I'll be a fan again...just do the right thing!  Full Story »
