Heroes...
We all go sailing because we love it, correct? Well my hat is well and truly doffed to this gentleman in the Laser Masters World Championships...forget the straight leg hiking and sailing by the lee downwind, he's just happy to get around the racecourse in one piece! This is what our sport is all about...forget the posers and billionaires screwing up the sport at the top end and sod the precious Olympians that get so annoyed when I point out that they're all sailing Jurassic boats with a governing body that makes Stalin look reasonable whilst giving the good name of buffoonery a bad image...This is where it's really at...do the sport because you love it, not to inflate your ego. Who cares if you come first or last? It's the thrill of competing against the wind, waves and yourself that counts... Lest we forget.... Full Story »
