I'm hearing now that Ernesto is apparently telling anyone who'll listen in Swiss Yachting circles that if they help the Oracle team in any way then (and I quote from my source) that: "there WILL be consequences"...Apparently there's a move to try and get the owners association of the B35 class to exclude Larry & Co from the circuit for this year! How funny is that? What's Ernie become now...the moral arbitrator of who can and can't enter a circuit? It's just incredible the ego of the man...next he'll be banning me from the Mumm 30 circuit and oh yes, is it okay if my son competes in an Optimist in 5 years time Sir? Absolute bungling buffoon in my book and I pray that my source below is right about the Meyer buy-out... Oh yes and I love the unattributed remark on Scuttlebutt NA this morning denying my story. That's got the paw prints of Simmer all over it in the carefully worded response. What is Scuttlebutt becoming? The mouthpiece for the dark side? Be careful boys or we might have to rename you Poodlebutt! Here's the alleged response, I can't wait for the full apology from Poodlebutt when this comes true (maybe they're on the Alinghi payroll or perhaps BYM have bought them?: According to the Alinghi America's Cup camp, an entirely erroneous report is being circulated that Ernesto Bertarelli is on the brink of selling the team.
