Derek Bouwer is calling on all sailors to join SABA (Sailors Against Boat Abuse). As Derek says; "Boat abuse comes in many guises mainly as a cause of buying a poor boat and then leaving it unattended for months on end. It is a scientifically proven fact that boats suffer from separation anxiety." The classic signs of Boat Separation anxiety are: 1. The deck becomes grey. 2. Rigging starts to sag. 3. The boat shows signs of a severe rash called, RUST. 4. The Boat's intestines become blocked and won't work. 5. The underbelly becomes matted and rough. Boats need regular exercise to shrug off the symptoms of neglect. SABA is committed to fighting boat abuse by: 1. Writing letters on behalf of neglected boats to their errant boat owners and pleading with them to come and visit and shower them with love and affection. 2. Finally, if that fails, by cutting them loose and letting them go so they can drift off and hopefully find new more caring owners. Amandla SABA! Viva SABA Viva! Let us have your ideas on behalf of neglected boats and Leave a Comment. Full Story »
