Barcelona World Race start
The Barcelona World race got off to a start today despite the Spanish Armada doing its best to get in the way. At first looked like it might be a drifting match to get accross the start line but the wind filled in for gun to go off. In the end it was the fleet, led by PRB which dove into the spectator fleet heading for better wind further out to sea. Three boats went to the beach heading for what was meant to be a windward mark turned into leeward mark.They then headed back to the start line before turning to a buoy off of Sitches to the south. Two more days and they will be trying to get through the Straits of Gibraltar and hoping to be the first to get to the tradewinds. Full Story »
