In follow up to our previous post, yesterday aboard Ernesto Bertarelli's yacht Vava, the signing of the AC 33 Protocol after Alinghi had won. One hears a host city agreement with Valencia could be signed as early as this afternoon at the Alinghi Base, clearing the way for an announcement tomorrow of the AC 33 venue and date. Or will, as some suggest, the venue again be put out to bid and not announced until later this year, making a two-year (2009) turnaround unlikely? We shall know one way or the other when the Defender (SNG / Alinghi), and the Challenger of Record (Club Nautico Español / Desafío Español) announce the new Procotol at a midday press conference tomorrow.
