Smith takes on round UK dinghy record
Veteran sailor Steve Smith announced yesterday that he hopes to break the fastest time record for circumnavigating the UK in a dinghy. He will be sailing a boat of his own design. Smith, who has been sailing since he was 6, is a Yachtmaster and sailing instructor with years of experience in racing and offshore sailing. In 2003 he won the North Sea Race, sailing from Hull to Holland, and later this year will be competing in the transatlantic ARC race.
