River rescue for holidaymaker
A holidaymaker was rescued from the River Yare yesterday, after she fell into the water while trying to get aboard her hired cruiser. The 58-year-old lady, who was on a boating holiday in the Norfolk Broads, was in the water for around 30 minutes before being rescued by a passing cruiser. Her husband managed to hang onto her hand, and phoned Yarmouth Coastguard for assistance. Yarmouth Coastguard sent Gorleston Coastguard Rescue team and the Yarmouth Sector Manager and requested the launch of an independent rescue boat from Hemsby to the scene. Bef...Read More...
