Sunny skies with a light easterly breeze building to 8-10 knots in the afternoon. First race, Mascalzone and China Team. CT came in from the right and Mascalzone waited until China Team started to dial up then ducked CT to chase them when they went to the right. Both went to the right corner and did two circles before heading back to line. Mascalzone being to leeward, luffed China Team slowing her down before the yellow boat tacked to the committe boat just being able to sail over. They then tacked over onto starboard along with Mascalzone but rounded behind them at the windward mark. The Spanish against Shosholoza was aggressive enough at the start with Shosholoaza crossing the line to windward of the Spanish and gaining the advantage to round the windward mark first. Just behind them the Spanish were able to sail lower and faster passing the South Africans. In the rematch between Masacalzone and Desafio, aggressive circles and with one minute to go, Mascalzone held to windward to kill time alowing them to get off cleanly. They horse raced the Spanish until Desafio tacked to stay in the middle of the course. Mascalzone kept the Spanish off to the left and rounded ahead of them at the windward mark. Once again the Spanish were right behinid their competition and rolled them shortly after the windward mark. Mascalzone also chose the furthest mark of the gate.
