Digging Deep for a Place in the Medal Race
Palma de Mallorca, Spain April 4, 2007 Today at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia the wind strength was more consistent than previously this week in Palma de Mallorca but wind shifts continued to play a big role in the results. In the two races sailed today I got myself on the wrong side of big shifts in each race but clawed my way back to finish with respectable, but not great, finishes of 16th and 12th. My overall place at the end of the day was 17th in the Gold Fleet. If I’m to make it into Friday’s wrap-up double-points Medal Race for the top ten boats, it means I need to dig deep tomorrow for a very good performance and a little bit of luck.
