www.Sail-Search.com: Skandia Cowes Week 2008 runs from 2 – 9 August. It is the oldest, largest and most prestigious sailing regatta in the World and a highlight of the British sporting and social calendar. The regatta now stages up to 40 races a day for around 1,000 boats. The 8,500 competitors range from Olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors. In excess of 100,000 spectators come to Cowes to watch the racing, enjoy the parties and live entertainment, and to experience the unique atmosphere.
