Valencia, Spain Friday 18th July Today we sailed our Lillia Charter boat from the BMW Oracle base. We have been really lucky with the conditions Valencia has provided us for some sailing sessions. The Valencia Port breakwater kicks up a pretty reasonable chop so sailing in close helps replicate the mixed sea state we experience in China from the tide.Reports from China have been positive but still very light winds and the fog is still hanging around. From our experience at the Pre-Olympics last year in China these elements tend to improve slightly as we move into August. Also an important note for us to remember is that we start racing in the second week of the Olympic program. This will give us weather and racing results to learn from before we hit the race course.No more sailing from the BOR base as the Americas Cup port will be transformed into the Formula 1 race track over the weekend and the barriers that run through the front of our base are a little high to launch the boat over!!
