The Team Leader is Colin Whitehead, a well known Hobie 16 World Champion. Coach, David Rae was an integral part of Team Shosholoza and brings a wealth of experience. The South African sailing team members are: 1. Rudi McNeill - Laser 2. Claire Walker - Laser 3. Taariq Jacobs and Neil Malan - 29'er 4. Mathew Whitehead and Michael Ovenstone - SL16 Taariq and Neil did very well in last years Volvo with a 4th overall and a 1st in the second race of the series. Rudy, on the boys Laser, finished in 18th place and a top place of 5th in Race number 7 of the series. Below is a short note from Team Manager, Colin Whitehead after the team's arrival in Århus: Hi All – well we arrived safely in Aarhus, after a long flight and no sleep, except for Rudi who slept all the way in every plane. The Hotel is very comfortable but quite a distance from the venue, there are shuttle buses every morning and evening. We will be registering this morning and getting boat allocation followed by briefing and practice day. The town is buzzing with all the youth and looks like its going to be a great week. Chow for now. Regards The Team Colin Whitehead Full Story »
