Marching on!
Was an interesting day down at the boat park yesterday. No wind first thing a plenty of fog and then the thunderstorms rolled in. Providing some spectacular lightning displays. The positive of this was that the storm cleared the fog and an offshore wind developed. We left the dock with about 7knts outside and after being out there for about an hour it had rapidly built to 20+knts!We are sailing from the Yin Hai Marina which is just north of the Olympic venue by about a mile, a today was the first day we could see the venue from the water! Was a really impressive sight to see all the Olympic Classes out there tuning, testing, racing all on the same bit of water. As l mentioned earlier it really is starting to resemble an Olympic venue.In the taxi on the way back to the Hotel we witnessed the arrival of the troops. Basically a 2km line of Soldiers marching down the road, the pic is what l tried to snap out the window with the iPhone.Forecast from team Meteorologist Rodger (Clouds) Badham is for "wind, real wind today!" so hopefully will have more to report later.
