Bequia (pronounced beck-WEE) is a beautiful little island in the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. There are many ex-sailors who have swallowed the hook and made it their home. Among the many traditions there is one of whaling. By international agreement they still allow an annual take of up to 4 humpback whales from open boats with hand thrown harpoons.
