Hukilau Sails the Sound: Work, work, work
Yesterday evening was beautiful: sunny, with big puffy clouds, and a nice breeze. So where was I? On Hukilau, of course. But not sailing. No, despite the fact that I had the Admiral aboard for a sail a couple of weeks prior, the boat was still filthy. The deck and cockpit had not yet been washed since the winter cover had come off, and the entire aft end of the cockpit had that grey/black moldy look. Also, the backstay and shrouds still needed adjustment and to have cotter rings inserted, plus the cabin sole was dirty. In short, there was work to be done. However, the night was beautiful and I was sorely tempted to scotch the cleaning and go sailing. "I'll just take care of the big stuff, and then go out" I thought. Full Story »
