Cross Training
It was another road trip on Thursday last week. Although a little shorter, only 300km from Valencia to Murcia. l headed down to Murcia to pick up a chartered Finn from a local Finn sailor. Diego is the training partner for the Spanish Olympic rep Rafa (Dan Slater's competition). He had spare boat and after a little planning l now have a Finn fully rigged next to the star in the BMW Oracle boat shed. l might need to have a chat to Russell and explain that another boat shed is required should we ever need one for an Americas Cup yacht!?Spain has hit the Summer switch so as a cross training tool l will be throwing the Finn off the end of the dock and getting out on the Americas Cup course for some sailing. And it should go pretty well as my only competition is ME! Stand by for race updates and photos.Hamish and l are in Valencia for another week before heading to China for our 10 day block of training. Really looking forward to re-visiting China and due to the fact that it is 35 degrees every day here in Spain we shouldn't suffer to bad heading into another hot climate.Oh yeah, my Finn Sail number is ESP 1.... they are already trying to talk me into the nationals in October!
