Plan of Attack
We have woken up here in Gravedona to a beautiful day on the lake. l thought l would take this opportunity to update you on our plan of attack for the next couple of weeks.As l mentioned we are here in Italy preparing NZL 8358 for the Olympic Games. 1st up is dealing with some minor measurement issues (common to the star class) that we discovered in Holland when the boat had a check measurement. 2nd up is the finer details of the boats preparation. Wet Sanding the bottom, non-skid where needed and instilation of the last couple of systems to help us sail the boat.After the whole Olympic campaign is put on hold to watch the Giro d'Italia roll through town (which will take about 5 seconds) we hope travel with the 8358 to the Eastern Hemisphere (Europe) Championships in Split, Croatia. We then continue to hone our racing skills and check in on the boat. After the racing concludes on the 7th June we then load the boat on a ship in Genoa, Italy on the 9th (my 27th Birthday!). From there a much needed rest will be taken back in Valencia, where we also have a spare Star for some practice sessions on our own.Plenty happening, a very exciting time and l will be making an attempt to update as we go along.
